I must admit, I had a really hard time selecting my Top 5 books of 2025, so I added a few extra’s beyond the 5.
I am also reading an EXCELLENT book at the moment, which expands on Dr Sarno’s work on what causes pain, chronic pain, and a whole shopping list of other debilitating symptoms.
The book is called Mind Your Body by Nicole S. Sacks, who also has a podcast on the topic of chronic pain, called The Cure For Chronic Pain.
After almost 27 years of reading about, researching, and writing about, physical and mental health, I can say that she is pretty much bang on with her understanding and teachings about the actual “root cause” of so much chronic pain.
Check it out.
And just before I started reading Mind Your Body, I had finished another great book called Germs Are Not Our Enemy by naturopathic doctor Marizelle Arce.
It comes from the perspective of Terrain Theory, which has been disputing the validity of Germ Theory for well over 150 years.
Terrain Theory makes a lot more real-world and practical sense than Germ Theory (with its ludicrous idea that a sterile environment, free of microorganisms is healthiest for us, when there are more micro-organisms in the body than there are cells (i.e. > 50 Trillion)). Huh?!?!
Anyway, that is a topic for another day.
Also, if there are any books you have read in 2025, which caused a major Knowledge spike for you, please do share.
And now let’s see who the winners were, shall we?
Enjoy.

FORBIDDEN FACTS by Gavin de Becker
This was a classic. The thing I liked most about this book, was that it explored the graft and corruption in the Medical Industrial Complex, but was written by an actual criminologist who is a specialist at investigating “organised crime”, and does he come across some doozies (not surprisingly)! He also takes the piss, and is sarcastic, when exploring some of the crazy stuff the complex is trying to pull off, so it is not only a highly informative investigation, but fun to read. Did you know that there are even more $$$$ in the Medical industrial complex than the Military industrial complex. Fertile ground for dodgy deals.

PURE HUMAN by Gregg Braden
I am a fan of books that look at the pure potential, power and intelligence of a human being. I personally developed a program in 2021 called “Become a Natural Superhuman“, as I wanted to celebrate the raw power of our humanness when unleashed and not shackled by false beliefs. Gregg Braden, does a great job exploring what it means to be Pure Human, and also explored the subject of Transhumanism (which is pretty much a rebranding of eugenics). What does it mean to be human, to experience consciousness and have a soul or spirit, and how is that affected by a potential AI “integration”? Very relevant topics to explore.

THE GREAT PLANT-BASED CON by Jayne Buxton
I love reading about nutrition, and also what is “fact”, and what is anecdotal, dogma or scientism? I used to think that being into yoga also meant you needed to be into vegetarianism. But that is totally wrong. Ayervedic medicine which is the yoga sister-in-arms, says your PERSONAL constitution determines if you eat no meat, moderate meat, or a lot of meat. There is no one-size-fits-all. So if you are curious about what is made-up dogma in the vegetarian / vegan world, check this out. I have been vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, paleo, and flexitarian, so it is great to know what are more probable facts and what is assumed. You are likely be surprised.

FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH by Arthur C Brooks
This was an outstanding book, especially if you are 40+ years old. It is extremely insightful about the unfolding of our life as we go through different stages and ages. And how we can align ourselves professionally to best support the changes we experience as we get older. He also suggests that there are 2 primary phases professionally, which is extremely beneficial to be aware of. The book is an easy read, and he dances between personal experience and professional research. I have recommended this to all of my mid-life mates.

SLAVE SPECIES OF THE GODS by Michael Tellinger
I was a little reticent to add this one as it is a bit “controversial”. But WTF. I am deeply curious about the origins of humanity, our propensity for conflict, our fixation on gold, our collective psyche, and the official history narrative and timeline, which is SO full of holes and made up sh#t! This book was written over 15 years ago, so there is some stuff on the human genome that is perhaps outdated, but it is a fascinating presentation of information to consider. Who are we and where did we come from, since clearly the fossil records, or evolutionally principles themselves, don’t support the huge evolutionary leap to an anatomically modern human (AMH) about 200,000 years ago.
SOME OTHER FAVOURITES
It was WAY TOO HARD to just pick 5 books I had read in 2025! As you can see, my reading for 2025 had a heavy focus on HEALTH (as without our health we cannot live large or realise our big dreams), and our HUMAN ORIGINS (Who are we and where do we come from?). Especially since I am told our human Chromosome Number 2, appears to have been “spliced” and altered, which cannot happen naturally. I do love a mystery. 🙂
And my favourite fiction book (which I probably read about 40-50 of in 2025) was probably The Will Of The Many by James Islington.
