Knowing when to say YES and when to say NO is not only essential to the Richard Branson’s and Warren Buffet’s of the world, but is HUGELY important for each and every one of us.
In this episode of The Happiness Class we not only look out how best to make the decisions for a YES or NO, but I talk about ‘why’ we might have a challenge saying ‘No’ and what to do about this.
In my experience, as much fun as the movie ‘Yes Man’ with Jim Carrey is, it is often the things we don’t say ‘No’ too, that have the biggest impact on our lives. That is because for most of us, it is easier to say yes than to say no, especially to the personal stuff. We are more worried of upsetting the other person than protecting our precious time on this planet.
So this Happiness Class is a must for us all.

Recently I headed across to Singapore (from Bali) to attend a Tony Robbins seminar called Total Success.
The last time I had attended one of his events it was back in 2007 – so I was keen to check out what he had to say, and to be reminded of a bunch of things I already knew, but was not applying as effectively as possible.
So I have taken the Top 5 Tips and insights that stood out for me over the two days and am sharing them here with you, plus a bit of my spin and experience with them.
My favourite is that Success is 80% Psychology and 20% Mechanics. I love that! So true! And I tell you why, and what to do with this golden nugget.

I have had a number of clients of late, doing one of my coaching programs (the 30-Day Happiness Challenge), that have told me that they want to have more confidence.
Since I am a lover of thinking, I decided to direct my attention to figuring out more about confidence. What is confidence? Where does it come from? Is there something or anything that precedes it? Do you have it or not? Are you born with it or can it be taught?
So this weeks Happiness Class is all about understanding more about Confidence and what are the conditions that will create more Confidence for yourself. And what are your Beliefs; when it comes to Confidence.
You are going to love what I have found. Because there is hope for us all. Regardless of how we came into this world. You will also learn a four-letter word that is essential for successfully gaining more confidence.

This weeks Happiness Class was inspired by a number of Coaching clients who were trying so hard to keep it together. And in my opinion, maybe too hard. So I let them know that it is totally ok to melt down on the odd occasion. This is a great way to release and let go of ‘stuff’ that you may have built up in your mind and body.
Once you release, and get rid of the old (or the past), you open yourself up to new experiences, thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
Given my focus on practical tips, tools and strategies, I also talk about specific ways to get yourself back up on your feet after this meltdown. And for starters, you don’t have to do it or figure it all out yourself.

We all know about good habits and bad habits and how they can take us forward or backwards, but knowing is not enough. The real question is “how can I create a powerful habit?”
So that is the topic of this weeks Happiness Class. A look at what it means to create habits and how best is it to do so. Inspired by a bunch of previous work, plus recently reading a book called ‘Superhuman by Habit’.
Also having recently returned from 2 weeks back in Australia (since I now live in Bali), I was reminded of the value of catching up with friends that you haven’t seen or spoken with in a long time. It feels SO GOOD to do it. I caught up with people I had not seen in 20+ years and it was great. So I challenge you to do a bit of that yourself. It will make you and keep you Happy for ages.

In this Happiness Class I will tell you about a shameful and humiliating event that happened to me 28 years ago, that has affected me in subtle ways ever since. Not only that – but what limiting belief I associated with the event that has been a thorn in my side every since.
I will also share with you how I dealt with that event (with a series of techniques) that made me feel as if the world bent itself around me. It is like a fear I have carried for years, and have had to work hard on, has just disappeared. I feel like a new me.
The event I share happened to me in the first year I was in the Army at Australian Defence Force Academy. It might come as a bit of a shock to all the guys I know from my service days to hear about the impact this event had on me, as I always maintained a brave face. Plus I believe I have been quite successful, regardless.
So if you want to hear Carl Massy as his most open and most vulnerable self, then you are going to want to hear this.
I will also be sharing with you the book I read, and the process I used to make such a life-changing shift.
The book was ‘Code to Joy’ by Dr Pratt, Dr Lambrou & Dr Mann.
Now as with every book (mine included), the real magic doesn’t come from reading a book, it comes from taking action on the information.

I had a lot of fun with Grace Kim, as she took us for a little journey down the rabbit hole. Often I am very practical and pragmatic in my strategies, so it was great to loosen the bonds a little bit and delve into the realm where less ‘scientific’ evidence is present – but 1000’s of years of practice might say otherwise.
Grace Kim is an Energy Healer, Acupuncturist and Teacher.
Grace is from Toronto (Canada) and she started meditation and martial arts at the age of four. She learned qi gong and physical energy practice through martial arts, later to discover the healing applications of energy as an acupuncturist and Thetahealer®. Grace heals people with acupuncture and energy healing through Thetahealing techniques either fact-to-face or distantly. She also teaches self-healing, qi gong and yoga to all levels at studios and retreats. Plus she also certifies Thetahealers®.
I think you will find this podcast a lot of fun and also very informative. I bring up the point that we are much less than 1% physical matter, so it just makes sense that energy healing ought to be a part of the healing process.
