What To Do When You Feel You Don’t Have a Choice (Advice I Give My Private Clients)

So, I have been coaching now for over 14 years and worked with lots and lots of different people over that time. And in those 14 years, I have helped many people through major crisis in their lives – whether they are financial, relationship, professional, health, etc..

One thing I catch my clients my saying is “I don’t have a choice.

This does not serve them. This does not help them find creative solutions. This does not help them to become empowered. This does not connect them with the source of life that flows to and through us all.

In this Podcast, I have included a 30-min training video I recently recorded, which is filled with the advice and strategies I offer my clients when they start to feel they don’t have a choice.

In the training video I talk about how to show up differently (as a Leader, warrior and Sage) to overcome even the biggest challenges and obstacles. I also talk about my very practical program called ‘Become a Natural SuperHuman‘, which helps you bring forth your inner Leader, Warrior and Sage in very real and practical ways.

I created this workshop as a service for my clients and people in general (plus humanity) to be able to become more anti-fragile, bulletproof and superhuman, when they step into 2022. I suspect 2022 will continue to be rocky, so best we prepare in advance, so we can not only survive, but THRIVE

Understanding the Difference between Hunger (real) and Cravings (illusion)

Hiya,

I had a very remarkable experience recently. I have been interesting in understanding more about fasting, intermittent fasting, metabolic flexibility and suchlike subjects, so last week I committed to a 5-day water only fast.

Now before I go any further, I don’t recommend you do this without supervision, so no racing off and turning off the food tap, and turning on the water tap, before you have done adequate preparation.

What i want to share in this podcast episode is one of the most profound insights from doing the fast. It was truly understanding the difference between HUNGER (a physiological ‘need’) and CRAVINGS, which it turns out are more of a psychological thing as opposed to a real or useful signal to stop us from starving to death.

Listen to my take on the difference between the two, and listen all the way to the end, so you can get your homework assignment too. It could be a game-changer for you.

FAT: The Facts and The Fiction

Hiya,

I just watched a great documentary the other night – which was free on YouTube – and called ‘Fat Fiction‘. Over the years (the last 20) I have read lots of book on health and for nutrition. This was a great presentation and collection of some of the things I have learned over the years.

It talked about the role of fat, the role of cholesterol, the obesity epidemic and some of the causal factors, and a  lot more. So do check it out. Here is the link.

The book I have read that also addressed the very important subject of our understanding of cholesterol is ‘The Great Cholesterol Myth‘ by Bowden and Sinatra (not the singer).

The other book I mentioned is by Kelly brogan MD, called ‘A Mind of Your Own‘, which I highly recommend. The book is aimed towards women with any sort of mental health issues (anxiety, depression, etc.), but it is equally insightful for the dudes. 🙂

Who You Need to Become to Navigate Your Way Through 2021 and Beyond

Hiya, 

So it is no secret that most of us have found the last 18 months to be the most tumultuous and disruptive time in our lives (for any billionaires listening to this – perhaps this does not apply to you.

And I don’t think things are going to be ‘smooth sailing’ for a good while to come yet. I think the foreseeable future is going to continue to disruptive, uncertain, and with some pretty funky vibes and energy circulating around us. 

So…I have been working with my clients and within my experience base to consider what is the best way to move through this with a bit more ease, grace, stability and even a bit of thriving thrown in for good measure. 

For me, it is about who we need to BECOME in order to achieve the things we most desire in life, or have the life experience we most desire. 

Therefore I have come up with an idea that the person we need to be needs to be part Leader, Warrior and Sage. Listen in to the podcast to see what I mean and how I see that benefiting you. I am here to serve you and humanity as best as I can, and I think this is a bloody good start.

Let’s Talk About How to Bullet Proof Your Life

This weeks topic is inspired by a conversation with an Balinese employee working in a restaurant I recently visited. We were talking about doing stuff that we don’t to do. 

It got me to thinking about the bigger topic of how we can ‘bullet proof’ our life so that we are less dependent on external providers. This is all part of the process to self actualisation. To standing strong in our own power and have less possibility for someone to pull the rug out from under you. 

How bullet proof is your life? 
Who ‘controls’ aspects of your life, and how can you take back more control? 

Psychologists tell us it is very healthy for us mentally to have a feeling of autonomy (control) over our lives. So what ways can we take back the control and power in our lives. 

It is a worthy discussion and I hope it gives you food for thought and some ideas to work with.

What Information Sources Do I Use for My News?

So I get asked quite a bit what information sources I use to navigate my way through these challenging times, to help me make better decisions when it comes to my health and happiness.

I teach in my book – Decision Making Mastery – that if you put crap information into your decision making process, then you are likely to make a crap decision, or a decision that has less stability and certainty to it.

This means over the last 12+ months in particular, I have been searching for the right information sources to use, in order to get closer to the truth of the matter, and therefore make sound and robust decisions.

Guided Meditation – Thank You Body

Hiya, 

In y humble opinion, doing the inner work is even more beneficial than doing the outer work in many cases. That is why my book ‘The Guidebook to Optimum Health‘ has as the subtitle ‘Why Exercise and Nutrition Alone are Not Enough‘. The inner work is essential. 

And meditation is one of those tools of inner work. 

This meditation is designed to create a positive and healing biochemistry inside the body by practicing gratitude and specifically directing that gratitude at different parts of the body. When you create the right internal environment the self-healing process happens more effectively and efficiently.

The Importance of Radical Self-Care – Part 2

In this Podcast I get uber practical and share a practice that I have which I have turned up the dial on (more regular and more intentional) to take care of myself, and to allow me to be in the right state for the professional work I do coaching. It is Time (in 2021) for Radical Self Care

Hiya,

So…one size does not fit all. Never did. Never will. And that applies equally to what worked for you 18 months ago. It may very well not work for you now.

It is very clear to all of us (regardless of our specific world view beliefs) that 2020 and 2021 are radically different than life in 2019.

What this means – specifically when it comes to ‘self care’ – is what might have worked for you very well 18-months ago may not be right, or enough, or the right combination now; in order for you to maintain a high level of well-being (mentally, emotionally, psychologically, physically and even spiritually).

In this podcast I share with you lots of ideas of how you could incorporate into your own life a new level of ‘radical’ self care.

This is a very common theme I am teaching my coaching clients, and also I am closely reviewing and revising in my own life.
