I have been full-time Coaching now for about 13 years, and in that time have worked with 100’s of people from lots of different walks of life and in lots of different personal situations.
But one thing is common to them all.
They all have the power to ‘choose’ what meaning they give to a particular event.
The problem is that most people don’t know about the power that resides within their hands and within their reach.
In this podcast I explain this in more detail and then I teach you how to use this new understanding to your benefit.
When you master this, you may well have mastered life. You have certainly got a much better ability to influence your emotions and their physiological impacts.

But without a good relationship to this, life is much harder to live fully. Plus you are more likely to be plagued and hampered by fear.

In today’s episode of the Life Masterclass podcast, I talk on a couple of subjects which came up in a recent Coaching Session with one of my awesome clients.
And because the topic came up in that session, and I figured it was relevant to a lot of people, I wanted to share it with you.
We talked about the idea of sustainability when it comes to this game called ‘life’. And how life is not a sprint, but more like an ultra marathon. Given that, the strategies we use in life need to reflect the format of the race we are in. It just makes sense to see it like that, and respond accordingly.
From the conversation on sustainability I move into another very relevant topic and that is about how to avoid getting into a state of overwhelm.
I finish up with a VERY practical tool I use for myself and my clients to help them avoid overwhelm and establish a sustainable, enjoyable, and fulfilling life.

I am recording this podcast at the end of April 2020, while we are still somewhere on the path of the corona virus experience. I am hopeful that we are well past the half way mark and in the home straight of getting back to life, work and reconnecting with people in a physical way.
I recorded this podcast on this topic, as I was recently with a colleague that had experienced a high level of fear around this experience, which I compared to my own experience. I have rarely felt any fear over this experience (my concerns are about what choices I get to make in the future when it comes to my health and well-being, based on what I have studied and written about over the last 20 years – a subject for later).
So in this podcast I talk about one antidote to fear that I think not only deals with fear, but builds up wisdom, and therefore an even better ability to make good choices in the future.
I also talk about things I have learned through my study and practice of hypnotherapy, so you can become more aware of what might be happening at a ‘subconscious’ level.

One of my favourite topics and the topic of my next book is the subject of decision making. I am a firm believer in the quality of your decisions impacting the quality of your life and your destiny.
It makes so much sense.
So in this Podcast I wanted to look at two different pathways, that have their place, in different situations.
In some cases the fear switch is highly effective, but in other situations if you don’t flick the consciousness switch, your ability to come up with the most creative, innovative and effective solutions will be sabotaged.
In the podcast I tell you how to activate the consciousness response, when dealing with more complex (and not immediate life threatening) situations or longer-term personal crisis.

So I recorded this podcast on 19 March 2020, which is somewhat in the middle of the Corona Virus experience we are impacted by globally.
It is an interesting time to be recording a podcast, about well-being, and doing it in a sensitive way, but is also life affirming and supportive and from my perspective – practical.
I have looked at what are some of the positive by-products of this experience and I talk about something I have been studying and working towards before the corona virus situation. And that is getting clear about what is really ESSENTIAL.
It is often when people are in a crisis, or facing a crisis – life a health scare – that they start to get really clear about what is ESSENTIAL in their life.
This is the topic I explored briefly in this podcast.

Today’s podcast episode is the first of a monthly offering which I am called ‘Self-Coaching Strategies’. These strategies are simple things that you can apply into your day and life that will cause you to get new (and of course better!!) results in your life.
This first self-coaching offering is about realising that the way we look at something, the way that we perceive it, or the lens of perception we are looking through creates a certain internal experience. Different lenses give us a different experience, such as joy, frustration, awe, annoyance, etc.
So with this simple strategy it takes from experiencing a heavy sense of being, to a much lighter and playful sense of being. Does feeling lighter sound like something you would want more of?
