How to Improve the Most Important Thing We Do – Breathing!!

Hiya,

I was thinking that this month instead of a guided meditation, I would talk about one of the most important things we can do for our physical and mental health.

It is (obviously) BREATHING.

But here is the thing. Most people are crap at it. They are lucky to access about 10-20% of the oxygen available to them because of their breathing techniques.

In this podcast I talk a bit about breathing in general – what reduces it and improves it – plus I teach you the 3-Part Full Yogic Breath.

Listen, even as a reminder, and knowing that if you increase your OXYGEN by 20%, it will give you up to 20% more ENERGY. A total WIN-WIN situation.

Enjoy…and then DO. 🙂

Take care
Carl

Talking Yoga: The 4 Essential Elements for a Complete (and effective) Yoga Practice

A complete yoga practice

Let’s talk yoga.

I started practicing yoga in 1999 (back in the 1900’s ;-)), and have done lots of classes and yoga retreats over that time. Plus I was a co-owner of a Yoga Centre in Bali called The Practice, for 5 years. So it is definitely a big part of my life.

Just yesterday I was asked by someone – given the years I have practiced – if I can do all the ‘advanced’ and difficult postures. I said ‘no’ and that is not really what yoga is all about.

Hence I felt compelled to share with you what I perceive is the most effective practice of yoga, and what I often called the “Original Science of Happiness“.

Discover the 4 Elements of a complete and highly effective yoga practice. By ‘effective’ I mean most likely to support you becoming the most awesome human you can be.

For other conversations on ‘meditationgo here

Sign up for my newsletter at my website, so you can be informed when I go deeper into the subject of yoga with Octavio Salvado (The Practice) and his teacher – David Goulet – who started doing yoga the year I was born (1969)!

Have a super day.
Take care

How to Tap in to The Wisdom of Your Body and Decode It

Hiya,

Do you want to learn how to tap into the wisdom of your body?
Do you also want to learn how to decode the secret (and very wise) messages of the body?

Then this is the podcast for you.

I talk about how it is ESSENTIAL for our health and healing journey to be more attuned to our bodies and to be willing to experience discomfort, so we can learn what is REALLY going on and what are the probably CAUSES, as opposed to merely the current symptoms.

This really is essential listening if you care about your health – especially because most of what we are taught about symptoms and health are pretty much incomplete or completely wrong.

Self education is where it is at, so let the learning and GROWING begin.

The two books I mention in the Podcast are:
1. You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay
2. The Secret Language of Your Body by Inna Segal

As always if you have any questions or need help working through your own health challenges (and symptoms) don’t hesitate to reach out for support.

Have a great day.
Take care

Creating Space for the Mystical and Magical to Show Up in Your Life

Hiya,

Hands up if you would like a little more magical and mystical in your life?

If that is a resounding yes, then I have some tips for you to make it more likely to happen.

It’s called the forgotten art of creating space into your life.

In this podcast episode I talk about how to PRACTICALLY create space in your life for the magic to appear.

I hope you enjoy it, and please feel free to share.

If you want to work with me, or do one of my online transformational programs, check out the details here.

Book Review: The Wim Hof Method by Wim Hof

Hiya,

This is not only a great book, but it is a great book about a great technique that has the potential to make huge impacts on peoples health. The validation of its method are from the 1000’s of people that have got positive and sometime miraculous results, plus the feedback from numerous scientific studies that have been done on Wim Hof.

For me personally, after about 10 days of practice, I can already feel less inflammation in my knees. I am loving that outcome!!

If you don’t know Wim Hof, just do a search on the Iceman on YouTube and you will get a sense of what he is capable of (including having about 26 world records to his name). More importantly he was able to survive and thrive after his wife committed suicide, leaving him 4 young children. His story is quite amazing.

I loved reading about the origins of the Wim Hof Method. How he came to understand the benefits and unique combination of breathwork, cold exposure and mindset.

I also love Wim Hof’s philosophy about getting out of the comfort zone and us being a little too dependent on ‘things’ to keep us comfortable, and as a result have lost some resiliency and a lot of human potential – physically and mentally.

I encourage you to read the book – but more importantly I encourage you to try the method for yourself. Wim Hof even has an App to make it easier for you to do. It is an excellent daily investment in your health – only 20 mins a day!!

Have a fantastic day.

FAT: The Facts and The Fiction

Hiya,

I just watched a great documentary the other night – which was free on YouTube – and called ‘Fat Fiction‘. Over the years (the last 20) I have read lots of book on health and for nutrition. This was a great presentation and collection of some of the things I have learned over the years.

It talked about the role of fat, the role of cholesterol, the obesity epidemic and some of the causal factors, and a  lot more. So do check it out. Here is the link.

The book I have read that also addressed the very important subject of our understanding of cholesterol is ‘The Great Cholesterol Myth‘ by Bowden and Sinatra (not the singer).

The other book I mentioned is by Kelly brogan MD, called ‘A Mind of Your Own‘, which I highly recommend. The book is aimed towards women with any sort of mental health issues (anxiety, depression, etc.), but it is equally insightful for the dudes. 🙂

I said you could access a FREE copy of my Audiobook version of ‘Decision Making Mastery‘ by going to this link: https://www.carlmassy.com/o/bonus/win-win-win/
(I just want more people making great decisions.

And that is all from me.
Reach out via my contact page if you have some important decisions to make or transitions to make, as I would be happy to help out.

Have a great day.

What Information Sources Do I Use for My News?

Hiya,

So I get asked quite a bit what information sources I use to navigate my way through these challenging times, to help me make better decisions when it comes to my health and happiness.

I teach in my book – Decision Making Mastery – that if you put crap information into your decision making process, then you are likely to make a crap decision, or a decision that has less stability and certainty to it.

This means over the last 12+ months in particular, I have been searching for the right information sources to use, in order to get closer to the truth of the matter, and therefore make sound and robust decisions.

A list of some of my ‘news’ and current event sources are:

Other speakers I listen to: Robert Kennedy Jnr, Del Bigtree, Dr Zack Bush, Dr Mercola, Dr Cowan, Prof Cahill, Pam Popper, American Front Line Doctors, Robert Kiyosaki, Dr McCullough, etc.

Again, as I say in the podcast. Listen to these I recommend, and if they resonate (i.e. they feel like they are coming from the right place, and are pro humanity) listen on, and if not drop them.

Good luck wading your way through the information quagmire.
Take care

The Power (and Necessity) of Courage to Self Actualise (and thrive in the 2020’s)

Hiya,

Today I talk about one of my favourite topics…COURAGE.
The ultimate fuel source for thriving in a challenging world, plus the necessary fuel source if you want to self actualise or experience a higher level of mind or consciousness.

This has been taught throughout the ages. The value and necessity of courage.

I mention a previous episode about Courage Vs Confidence, which I encourage you to check out:
https://www.carlmassy.com/podcast/confidence-how-to-have-more/

Also if you have not watched (or listened to) the presentation I did recently on Decision Making mastery, at The Practice yoga centre in Bali, check that out on YouTube with this link.

Be a Goodly Godly Gazer Rather Than a Navel Gazer

looking upHiya,

I wanted to share a great strategy today to change your emotional state, especially in troubling times. 😉

I have heard the term ‘Goodly Godly’ a few times and I like the resonance of it. It has a playfulness to it, and therefore a lighter vibrational frequency to it.

All great for accessing elevated emotional states.

So in this Podcast I talk about what the heck I mean by Goodly Godly gazing and Navel Gazing, and how they have a significant effect on your happiness and well-being.

I hope you enjoy (and apply in your own life).

I also mentioned that Decision Making Mastery has hit the Amazon store. If you are quick you can get a VERY special deal with the Kindle Version (from $8.99 down to 99c!!!)

Enjoy leveling up your Decision Making Skills and I will see you next week.

All the very best.
Carl
