I hear lots of different stories about milk and whether we need it or not or in what quantities. What are your thoughts?
( Michelle )
Well. Where to start? Let me just summarise a few key points:
1. The biggest animals on the planet (with the biggest bones), stop drinking milk after they are naturally weaned off it. Like every other animal on the planet.
2. Cows eat greens to produce milk - so let's cut out the middle man and just eat more calcium rich foods.
3. I read once that the glass of milk a day campaign was started at the same time that there was a massive surplus of milk in the USA...which sounds a little too coincidental to me.
4. Our bodies are not designed to efficiently break down dairy milk.
5. I think water is best (as agreed to by the rest of the animal kingdom) and milk should be consumed as a condiment or as a treat for the odd occasion.
So for me. Milk and dairy is not a must food and should not really be a big part of the food pyramid (which was consequently designed by the food industry)
I have heard that meditation is great for you, but I can not really get into it. Do you have any suggestions?
( Tom )The best way to learn about meditation is to have someone who is already familiar with it show you how. Though, that can still be quick difficult to pick up. I have tried a number of methods over the years, but in the last few months I have discovered something that works really well for me (and 1000's of others). It is called Holosync meditation and is the merging of the Eastern meditation with Western technology. Essentially you listen to sounds that allow you to get into very deep states of meditation. Something that would normally take many years to accomplish. Check out: www.centerpointe.com for more details.
