We all had dreams. In fact we still have them. Usua
lly buried under layers of excuses. We make up stories to justify why we can’t follow our dreams; but in truth these stories of why not are the real Fairy Tales. Mostly we are just scared of failure, or some other form of preconceived pain that is a hallucination in our minds. Earl Nightingale, a great personal development advocate, said that success is, “the progressive realisation of a worthy ideal”. So real success comes from following your dreams.
By now I am sure that you have heard or seen me mention a mountain biking trip through Laos in May this year. Did you know that the idea, which led to this amazing activity, started as a small dream by one of my clients? Virginia suggested that she had lost her passion for the event industry, which she had been involved with for about 15 years but would really like to take small groups on life-changing adventure wellness trips throughout the world.
She knew that a trip, which was not only a break from the routine, but was actually a complete break from your current lifestyle, could create immense positively impact. It could actually be a decision point or turning point in the way that you lived out the rest of your life. The idea of being involved in transforming people or helping them to reassess the priorities in their lives was just too great for her to pass up. And at the same time she would be transforming herself.
So Virginia put in motion the series of steps that led her to establishing ‘Soulfit Adventures’ as a side business. She did the research on the best locations and agencies to partner with, she put together a website, she started forming alliances, and she started putting out the word amongst her network that this great trip was on the horizon.
Now Virginia has not made Soulfit Adventures fulltime (YET), but by creating momentum, and following her dream, things are starting to fall into place. Like Paolo Coelho says in The Alchemist, “When you want something, the whole Universe conspires to help you realise your desire.”
So don’t bury your dreams under reasons of why not. As Lao Tzu said, “The journey of 1000 miles starts with one step”.
If you want to join Virginia in Laos, or you know of someone that would greatly benefit from a big shake up in their lives, then pass on the details. I will also be life coaching on the journey to ensure that people get the very best out of their lives. For details check out Virginia’s new website: www.soulfitadventures.com.
