First of all there are no simple answers in life and nor is there only one solution for you to get your desired result.
Life is one big workshop and unless we are constantly learning or evolving along the way, it can get pretty mundane. There are always going to be challenges along the way and it is how we meet those challenges that determine what sort of experience and outcome we will create. We really are responsible for how we move forward in life, so regardless of how bad you think things are, there is always a way out. And that way is hidden somewhere within you, waiting to come out.
Here are some of my principle philosophies:
- The more gratitude you feel for the life that you already have, the better you will feel in the moment. And the better you feel in the moment, the better decisions you are likely to make. You need to exercise your happiness muscles.
- The same as you build up muscles in the gym by challenging them, so too do you need to challenge yourself to grow and expand, and find more joy in your life.
- You need to give of yourself to others. Holding all that you have earned or achieved to your chest will not make you anywhere near as happy as sharing it with someone that is in need. Get in the habit of acting abundant (and sharing) and life will give you more.
- Too much of anything is not good for you. If you give too much, but don’t allow yourself to receive, then you will be drained. If you are too structured (and organised) than you will miss the spontaneity in the flow of life. If you train physically too much and don’t rest you will diminish your immune system. I like it when the Buddhist’s talk about the middle way.
- Love is the language of the universe. Communicate with love, make decisions with a loving heart or intention, embrace the beauty of the universe and love yourself fully (even what you might think are faults). If you love yourself and life a little more, it will just get better and better.
I am also do as much as I can personally to reduce my 'carbon imprint' on the planet and to take better care of this beautiful planet of ours. Whether is is recycling, using less plastcis in general, doing as much paperless business as possible or even just turning off lights, fans, and airconditioners when I am not using them. There are so many little things that add up. I just love my universe!
